SECOND THEOLOGICAL CONFERENCE: ORIGINAL LANGUAGES OF THE BIBLE, INTERPRETATION, AND THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Special Guest Speakers: Rev. Fabiano Ferreira, Ph.D. and others.

The SECOND THEOLOGICAL CONFERENCE: ORIGINAL LANGUAGES OF THE BIBLE, INTERPRETATION, AND THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY will be held soon in the sanctuary of the Work of Restoration of All Things Church (WRATCH), Philadelphia, PA.

This Conference will be a joint effort of WRATCH and other Brazilian, Americans churches to gather the Brazilian and American evangelical communities of Northeast Philadelphia to listen the greatest scholars in the field of Hebrew and Greek to speak about this important subject. We’ll have workshops on the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the preservation of The Leningrad Codex and the modern translations of the Bible (a facsimile will be shown) and the project of Biblia Quinta, and finally, a brief History of Israel as the instrument of preservation and transmission of the Hebrew Bible. We’re also scheduling a visit to the Allan Groves Institute for Advanced Biblical Research at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, to meet Dr. Kirk Lowery and Dr. Vern Poythress. The purpose of this visit is to know how softwares designed for morphological and syntactical analisys of the original languages of the Bible (Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek) are helping Bible translators in the task of translation, and Pastors and laymen people in the task of Biblical interpretation. We'll have a special workshop on the powerful softwares Libronix 3 and Logos 4 Bible Software.

We must be for a more accurate interpretation, the best sermons, and a healthy ethical life for the church! This is the hermeneutic spiral!

Since November 30, 2007, Rev. Fabiano Antonio Ferreira is the senior pastor of Work of Restoration Church in Philadelphia. The Church is very happy to receive him and his family.

The Church in Philadelphia is the first Work of Restoration of All Things Church (WRATCH) in the United States. We have been here in the U.S. since April, 2006. We have our roots in the New Testament. Going backwards all the way through the history of the Christian Church and passing carefully through the Reformation of the sixteenth century, we have tried to reach the lifestyle of New Testament church. We consider ourselves as a product of rethinking the contemporary trends of the evangelical church throughout the world in the light of the Word of God to reach a Mitte, a balancing point of tension between contextualization and the entire teaching of the Bible to the Church. Of course, as the other evangelical Reformed churches, in the basis we believe that we cannot earn our salvation through good works and that the Scripture is the guide by which we evaluate our practices as Christians. However, we believe that the true believer must prove his faith through good works, especially toward them that are of the household of the faith. Read more on page Our History.
